Check the fresh strandline and any spots where a lot of driftwood has piled up after the storm. Fewer people means the wrack stays unsearched for longer.
Wind and waves work best from: N, NW.
Local rules
Picking up amber by hand for your own use is legal in Poland. Nearby, at Kąty Rybackie, there is a cormorant nature reserve.
Diving
Sandy seabed with no boulder fields. Amber traps are the troughs between sandbars and any hard obstacle where material collects.
About the beach
Sztutowo has a wide sandy beach and fewer people than Stegna or Jantar. It is closer to the Vistula Spit canal (przekop Mierzei).
Do not miss the next window
The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
