See the pre-saleWhere to look
After a storm, walk the beach in the evening and note where the sea left the most debris. That marks a trough that is working, and it is worth coming back to in the morning.
Wind and waves work best from: N, NW.
Local rules
Picking up amber by hand for your own use is legal in Poland. The dunes are protected.
Diving
Sandbars and troughs, as along the whole Spit. After a strong storm, look for dark layers on the trough floor: older sediment that may hold amber.
About the beach
Stegna is one of the most popular beaches on the Vistula Spit, with a wide strip of sand and forest behind the dunes.

The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
