See the pre-saleWhere to look
Amber is rarer here than on the eastern Baltic. Search the fresh strandline after winter storms from the north and north-east.
Wind and waves work best from: N, NE, NW.
Local rules
Collecting on the beach is allowed. Schleswig-Holstein beaches have had isolated finds of white phosphorus, which looks like amber. Keep a doubtful piece wet in a metal container and never put it in a pocket.
About the beach
Schönberger Strand is a long sandy beach in the Probstei, on Kiel Bay. It is an easy-to-reach stretch of the Schleswig-Holstein Baltic coast.
