Where to look

Search the band of washed-up debris: wood, lignite and seaweed. Amber is about as dense as waterlogged wood, so the waves drop it in the same places.

Wind and waves work best from: N, NW.

Local rules

The Mewia Łacha nature reserve lies on the east side of the river mouth. Do not enter it. Boat traffic restrictions also apply near the mouth.

Diving

Do not dive at the river mouth: river current, boat traffic and very poor visibility. For diving, choose a stretch further east.

About the beach

Mikoszewo is right by the mouth of the Vistula, where river and sea have been reworking delta sediment for centuries. After storms from the north it is one of the most often named spots on the Vistula Spit (Mierzeja Wiślana).

Do not miss the next window

The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
