Where to look

Search after winter storms from the north-west and north, in the band of seaweed and wood. Amber is rare on the Dutch islands, but it does turn up.

Wind and waves work best from: N, NW, NE.

Local rules

Collecting on the beach is allowed. The eastern tip of the island, Het Oerd, is a nature area with restrictions in the breeding season. Do not walk out on the tidal flats without a licensed guide.

Diving

Strong tidal currents. No data.

Do not miss the next window

The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
