See the pre-saleWhere to watch
Drive slowly at dawn and stop only in lay-bys and car parks. Good points are the boardwalk at Długa Luka, the tower over Bagno Ławki and the Grobla Honczarowska path out to Batalionowa Łąka. Animals are easiest to see in March and April, before the alder woods turn green.
What you can see
moose, ruff, common crane, aquatic warbler, Polish konik horse
Best time: March to May, dawn and dusk
Rules
The whole road has a 50 km/h limit, because hitting a moose is dangerous for both sides. Entry to the park needs a ticket, which you can buy online, and you may not walk off the marked trails (Article 15 of the Nature Conservation Act). Do not disturb birds at leks and roosts, which is banned by the regulation issued under Article 52 of that act.
About the place
Carska Droga is 33 km long and runs through Biebrza National Park, from the bridge over the Narew at Strękowa Góra to Osowiec-Twierdza. A moose on or beside the road is an everyday sight here. In spring ruffs display in the valley and cranes call over the marshes.
