See the pre-saleWhere to look
In the valleys around Wysowa and Blechnarka, look for yarrow, sorrel and wild thyme in meadows and for meadowsweet in wet spots by streams. Elder and nettle grow by wooden churches and old farmsteads. You will find bilberries and wild strawberries on the edges of beech forest and on felling sites.
What grows here
stinging nettle, elder (elderflower, elderberry), yarrow, wild thyme (breckland thyme), meadowsweet, dog rose (rosehip), common sorrel, wild strawberry, bilberry, ground elder, dandelion, white dead-nettle
Habitats: Carpathian beech and fir forest, overgrown meadows and orchards of former Lemko villages, alder by streams
Rules
Picking plants is banned in Magura National Park and in nature reserves. Wild garlic grows here in beech woods, but you may not pick it without a permit from RDOŚ in Kraków (or in Rzeszów on the Subcarpathian side). Remember the border zone near Slovakia, and that meadows by villages are often private land.
About the place
The Low Beskids are a gentle range by the Slovak border, with many abandoned Lemko villages. Meadows, feral orchards, elder and nettle remain where they stood. The area around Wysowa lies outside Magura National Park.
