Look in the spruce and pine along the trails from Sognsvann and Frognerseteren into the forest. Chanterelles grow in moss by birches, hedgehogs and winter chanterelles in damp spruce. The further from car parks, the fewer picked-over spots.
What grows here
chanterelle (kurka), hedgehog mushroom (kolczak obłączasty), winter chanterelle (pieprznik trąbkowy), penny bun / cep (prawdziwek), orange birch bolete (koźlarz czerwony)

Rules
The Norwegian right of public access (allemannsretten) lets you pick mushrooms on uncultivated land (utmark) without the owner's permission. Protected areas have their own rules (verneforskrift), so check the signs. In season you can have your mushrooms checked at a free mushroom control (soppkontroll).
About the forest
Nordmarka is a large area of forest and lakes north of Oslo, part of the Marka. People from the capital have picked mushrooms here for generations. From the centre you can take the metro to Lake Sognsvann.
