About the forest
The Ore Mountains (Krušné hory) on the Czech–Saxon border are a high plateau of spruce and bogs. The area around Boží Dar and Abertamy is well known mushroom ground, easy to reach from Karlovy Vary. The forest was replanted after acid rain damage and is now mostly middle-aged spruce.
