Look in mixed forest on slopes and along stream valleys. You will find chanterelles and cep at the edges of tracks in fir and beech stands. Download an offline map, because phone signal can be weak.

What grows here

penny bun / cep (prawdziwek), bay bolete (podgrzybek brunatny), chanterelle (kurka), honey fungus (opieńka miodowa)

Forest: beech woodland and mixed beech and fir forest on gentle ridges

Season: The season runs from July to October, and usually peaks in the second half of August and in September.

Rules

Picking mushrooms is banned in Magura National Park (Magurski Park Narodowy). The same ban applies in nature reserves. Signs mark the park boundary along trails and forest roads.

About the forest

Beskid Niski (the Low Beskids) is a gentle, wooded range between the Tatras and Bieszczady. Beech woodland and mixed fir and beech forest dominate. Villages are few and the forests are large, so it is easy to lose your direction.
