Where to look

Walk along the foot of the cliff after a storm and in the first days of a thaw. Look for narrow bands of gravel and flint left by the retreating water. Flints with a smooth, pale pattern showing through wet sand deserve a closer look.

What you can find

belemnites, sea urchins in flint, sponges in flint, bryozoans

Best wind: N, NW

Rules and safety

The slope under the church ruins is unstable. Do not go past the fences and do not stand under the cliff face. In a storm surge the water can reach the foot of the cliff. The stretch was proposed for protection as a natural monument of inanimate nature, so check the current status with RDOŚ in Szczecin.

About the cliff

You may know Trzęsacz from the ruined church at the cliff edge. The sea has been cutting at it for a long time, so it shows how fast the shore retreats. The cliff exposes glacial till, and with it pebbles of Cretaceous rock.

Do not miss the next window

The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
