Where to look

Check the beach towards Wicko Morskie after a storm from the north-west. Look for gravel and stones at the foot of the cliff, where the waves have taken the sand away.

What you can find

belemnites, sea urchins in flint, limestones with corals

Best wind: N, NW

Rules and safety

Pick up only loose finds from the beach. Do not dig into the cliff. The cliff is retreating, so do not go under the face, especially after a storm and during a thaw. Check with RDOŚ in Szczecin whether the stretch lies in a protected area.

About the cliff

Jarosławiec has a cliff whose engineering geology was described by the Polish Geological Institute. The cliffs of the central coast are made mostly of glacial till and sand. The fossils are mostly stones brought by the ice sheet.

Do not miss the next window
