Where to look

Walk along the foot of the cliff towards Redłowo. Look at stones in the gravel band after a storm from the east or north-east. Limestones with corals and brachiopod shells have a clear, wavy break.

Rules and safety

The cliff belongs to the Kępa Redłowska reserve (since 1938) and is part of Natura 2000. In the reserve it is forbidden to take fossils or to leave the paths. Do not assume the beach lies outside the reserve. Check the boundary with RDOŚ in Gdańsk. Look and photograph, do not dig. The cliff is slumping, so do not climb it.

About the cliff

At the foot of the Orłowo cliff, researchers found trilobites and ostracods in Silurian limestone erratics. The cliff is about 650 m long and up to 40 m high. The beach below it is also very stony.
