Where to stand
Pick a public beach or a jetty on the southern shore, so that you have water in front of you and a view north. Check on a satellite map beforehand that trees do not block the horizon. On site, look north over the water.

Rules and safety
Some shores are private, so do not enter fenced plots or jetties with a no-entry sign. Do not go onto the ice and do not boat after dark.
About the spot
Lake Wdzydze lies in the heart of Kashubia, in Wdzydze Landscape Park, at about 54.0° N. Forest and small villages surround it, so the sky is darker than at the sea. The drawback is the horizon: trees and shoreline often hide the north.
