Where to stand

Go to the Baltic side of the tip and move away from the port and the promenade. Keep the town lights behind you and look north.

Rules and safety

Part of Hel is a naval port and military land, so do not go through fences and do not approach the port. The tip is windier than inland, so dress warmer than the town forecast suggests.

About the spot

Hel is at the end of the Hel Peninsula, at about 54.60° N. From the tip you look north across open sea. The town and port give off a lot of light, though, so this spot suits stronger storms, Kp 6 and above.
