Where to stand

Use a marked path through the dunes onto the beach, then walk a few hundred metres from the entrance, away from the lamps and streets. Face the sea and look north. Nothing blocks the view all the way to the horizon.

View towards the pole

Wide beach and open sea to the north, no buildings in view

Sky darkness (Bortle scale): 4

Rules and safety

Dunes protect the shore from erosion, so use only the marked paths. After a storm the beach can be narrow and waves reach the foot of the dunes, so do not stand close to the water.

About the spot

Dębki is a forest village a few kilometres west of Jastrzębia Góra, at almost the same latitude, about 54.83° N. Buildings are sparse and the street lamps are weaker than in the big resorts. It is one of the darker spots on the Pomeranian coast.
