See the pre-saleWhere to look
Antlers show from far away in the sandy pine forest, but search mainly near forest meadows, food plots and ponds. Check ditch crossings and the edges of young stands where deer lie up during the day.
Species
red deer, roe deer, fallow deer
Season: Red deer shed from February to April, fallow deer in April and May. Snow goes quickly on sand, so you can search from March.
Terrain: pine forest on dunes, forest meadows and bogs
Rules and closures
Nature reserves are excluded, because collecting antlers is banned there. Outside them, do not enter wildlife refuges or plantations marked with a no-entry sign, do not disturb animals and do not let a dog run loose (Arts. 26 and 30 of the Forest Act). In a spring drought forest districts may close the forest because of fire risk.
About the area
Noteć Forest is a huge pine forest between the Noteć and Warta rivers. It is known for strong stags and plenty of game. Drawsko on the northern edge is a handy starting point.
