See the pre-saleWhere to look
Search the edges of forest meadows and bogs, along ditches and dykes that animals cross, and near game food plots. After a snowy winter, dry rises next to wetland are good, because animals come up onto them from the bog.
Species
red deer, roe deer, moose
Season: Moose shed from November to February, red deer from February to April. Search from January to April, best just after the snow goes.
Terrain: pine and mixed forest with bogs and forest meadows
Rules and closures
Nature reserves such as Imielty Ług and Szklarnia are excluded, because collecting antlers is banned there. Outside them, do not enter wildlife refuges or plantations marked with a no-entry sign and do not disturb animals (Arts. 26 and 30 of the Forest Act). Wetland is treacherous after the thaw.
About the area
The Janów Forests are a large complex of pine forest and wetland south of Janów Lubelski, with red deer, roe deer and moose. The Janów Forests Landscape Park does not ban collecting sheds, but it contains nature reserves where it is banned.
