See the pre-saleWhere to look
Search the edges of heaths and meadows, near game food plots and on worn trails through the forest. Firebreaks and rides are also good, because antlers show well on sand.
Species
red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, moose
Season: Red deer shed from February to April, fallow deer in April and May. Snow goes quickly on sand, so the season starts earlier than in the east.
Terrain: vast pine forest on sand, heathland and peat bogs
Rules and closures
The forest contains the Świętoszów military training area, where entry is forbidden, and nature reserves, where collecting antlers is banned. Outside them, do not enter wildlife refuges marked with a no-entry sign and do not disturb animals (Arts. 26 and 30 of the Forest Act). Old military land may hold unexploded ordnance, so do not pick up metal.
About the area
The Lower Silesian Forest is the largest continuous forest in Poland. Its red deer density is among the highest in the country. Węgliniec lies on the edge of the forest and is a good starting point.
